 Yes. We have hired the services of a professional timing company to track racers throughout their race. There will be 9 different timing points throughout the race to track your run as well as some predictive tracking.

 Yes. There are at least two checkpoints on each leg. There are also two aid stations which will have snacks and other supplies for racers. All checkpoints and aid stations are positioned with racers safety in mind.  

 The Black Lung Ultra has something for everyone, including newbies. We have 2 registration options: 

1) 62km Solo Ultra Marathon,  

2) Team Event, where up to 3 teammates can each run one leg of the race.

The Black Lung Ultra Marathon will take place rain or shine. Please come prepared to run in sun, rain, wind, snow, mud, or perhaps, all of the above! 

Unfortunately, the Black Lung Ultra is only open to humans; our four-legged, furry friends will not be allowed on the course 

Yes. However all minors must have a parent or guardian present throughout the duration of the race. The parent or guardian must also sign a waiver, in person, and bring valid pieces of government ID. 

Poles are allowed at the Black Lung Ultra.  

We are happy to welcome Fluid Sports Nutrition as our performance sports drink at our transition are and check point.  We will also have:

Chips

Our only mandatory gear would be your race bib and timing chip.  We recommend you have adequate hydration and nutrition to get you through any or all legs of the race.  Also, if you feel you may complete the race at dusk or later a headlamp is a great idea for the leg 3.
